What do Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Euler Hermes have in common? The answer is as surprising as it is obvious. All three take calculated risks on a daily basis to make their company the fastest grower. But how can you keep unnecessary risks from impeding the growth of your company?

1.      Don't put all of your eggs in one basket

What is even riskier than innovating and modernising? Not innovating and modernising. It is crucial to commit to progress at the right time. Or Amazon’s Jeff Bezos who, contrary to many of his contemporaries, did believe in the digital future and fully committed to it.

5.      Take a close look at your customers and suppliers

“How financially stable are your customers?” should be a routine question but in reality we rarely ask ourselves this. Every supplier has a direct impact on the quality of your products or services. Setting high standards in terms of business contacts is therefore not an unnecessary luxury but a prerequisite to a successful collaboration.
