Fed cuts, more on the way

As widely expected, the Federal Reserve cut the federal funds interest rate from a range of 4.25% – 4.50% to a range of 4.00% – 4.25% at its September meeting.
The most recent cut, along with two more likely in 2025, comes amid the most difficult possible position for the Fed: stubbornly high inflation and a rapidly cooling labor market.
