Solid Employment Report For June

The June employment report was very solid and exceeded expectations on almost every measure. The economy created 147,000 jobs vs. expectations of 110,000. The prior two months were actually revised up, a somewhat unusual occurrence, adding another 16,000 jobs. The unemployment rate dropped -0.1% to 4.1% vs. expectations of rising to 4.3%, and it remains historically low.
